HAMPDEN TOWNSHIP YARD WASTE FACILITY

The Yard Waste Facility is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The facility will also be open the first and third Saturday of each month from April 2024 through the first Saturday of January 2025 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The facility is closed on holidays (including holiday weekends) and during inclement weather.

The Hampden Township Yard Waste Facility will be closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day (if the holiday falls on Saturday, it is observed on Friday.  If the holiday falls on Sunday, it is observed on Monday); Martin Luther King Day; President’s Day; Good Friday; Memorial Day; Independence Day (if the holiday falls on Saturday, it is observed on Friday.  If the holiday falls on Sunday, it is observed on Monday); Labor Day; Columbus Day; Veteran’s Day (if the holiday falls on Saturday, it is observed on Friday.  If the holiday falls on Sunday, it is observed on Monday); Thanksgiving and the day following; Christmas (if the holiday falls on Saturday, it is observed on Friday.  If the holiday falls on Sunday, it is observed on Monday); and New Year’s Day (if the holiday falls on Saturday, it is observed on Friday.  If the holiday falls on Sunday, it is observed on Monday).

1. To use the facility, you must be a Hampden Township resident. A resident ID card is the preferred form of ID for access to the site.

2. Acceptable items include: shrubs (no roots) and shrubbery clippings and branches cut into 6 foot lengths and no larger than 12 inches in diameter.

3. Items which are not acceptable include: leaves, stumps, grass clippings and all grasses including ornamental plants, garbage, bulk items, dirt, stones, bricks, construction debris, concrete, hazardous materials, charcoal, fruits and/or vegetables, bags or containers.

4. There shall be no dumping while the site is closed.

5. Staff will not be directly monitoring the site during this time and residents are asked to adhere to the facility rules and regulations.

YARD WASTE FACILITY GATE

In response to growing security concerns residents may find the yard waste facility gate closed during hours which the facility is scheduled to be opened. If you find the gate closed, please press the intercom button located on the left hand side of the driveway. The first available staff member will answer the call, request that you show your resident ID and then remotely open the gate. We apologize for any potential inconvenience this may cause.

On Wertzville Rd. going East towards Enola, turn right onto Technology Parkway off Wertzville Rd. Continue straight on this road. Once you pass Patriot News Drive, look for the second left. Take that left, it will lead to the Public Works Facility.
On Wertzville Rd. going West towards Carlisle, turn left onto Technology Parkway off Wertzville Rd. Continue straight on this road. Once you pass Patriot News Drive, look for the second left. Take that left, it will lead to the Public Works Facility.
