Eagle Scout Projects

Hampden Township encourages and supports the efforts of local Boy Scouts who are pursuing their Eagle Scout badge. To that extent, the Township is receptive to special projects that Scouts must pursue in order to achieve their Eagle Scout badge. Past projects completed by Eagle Scouts include the construction and installation of bird houses in various Township parks, construction and placement of park benches along numerous walking trails, the design and construction of a rain garden at Armitage Golf Club, purchase and installation of storm drain makers in several developments, a bulletin board at Salem Park baseball fields for the display of a map of the park and various Hampden Youth Baseball announcements and improvements to the Conodoguinet Youth Park fire pit and amphitheater.

It is the Township's understanding that Boy Scouts are to develop a project idea and obtain approval from their Scout Master. To that extent, if a Scout would like to make additional improvements to Township facilities or provide some public service to the community, the Township is eager to partner with them. Scouts may contact the Township Manager at 761-0119 to discuss the details of their proposed Eagle Scout project. The Township may also have a list of project ideas to share with the Scout.
