Officer Jason JulsethThe Hampden Township Police Department is pleased to announce the assignment of Officer Jason Julseth as the department School Resource Officer (SRO)

Officer Julseth was appointed to the assignment of School Resource Officer (SRO) by Chief Steven Junkin following approval of an agreement between the Cumberland Valley School District and Hampden Township.

SRO Julseth will be be assigned to patrol all 4 schools within Hampden Township with his primary assignment being in the Mountain View Middle School.  As part of his duties, SRO Julseth will be interacting with the students, acting as a liaison between CVSD staff and the police department, enhancing the security profile of the buildings and being the point of contact for all law enforcement issues.  SRO Julseth will also, as needed, provide informational talks for students and/or parents on topics such as internet safety, texting and phone issues, and other age appropriate topics.

SRO Julseth joined the Hampden Township Police Department in 2006 and prior being assigned as the SRO, he was a Cumberland County Special Response Team, Team Leader.  SRO Julseth has a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice and  has obtained a certificate to be a substitute teacher.

SRO Julseth's assignment and duties will be in addition to the routine visits and interaction with our Patrol Officers through our annual safety plan "Operation Vigilant Guardian".
