Hampden Township is committed to providing excellent leadership to assure the highest quality of life for its citizens. A Stormwater Advisory Committee (SAC) was formed to provide a forum for key community stakeholders to advise Township staff on development of the stormwater utility and recommend potential stormwater service activities to address citizens' needs and meet state and federal mandated stormwater requirements.

The charge of the SAC is to make recommendations on the following:

  • Stormwater management program priorities;
  • Regulations, policies and proposed compliance plans;
  • Appropriate and affordable level of service;
  • Public participation in stormwater management program activities;
  • Structure of stormwater fee; and
  • Preliminary financial requirements.

The SAC is composed of representatives of key stakeholders from across a broad spectrum of community interests including residents; Hampden Township staff; the business community, including commercial property owners, developers/ builders, U.S. Navy and business groups; and special interest groups that represent economic development, environmental, or other Township committees. Members of the SAC represent the views of their constituencies and are assisting staff in its understanding of community goals and issues through open dialogue and discussion.
