Officers Receive Commendations- Platoon of the Year

At the February 24, 2022 Board of Commissioners meeting, several members of the Police Department were recognized for their achievements.

Platoon C, of the Patrol Division was named PLatoon of the Year for their efforts during 2021.  Their Commendation read:

"During the calendar year of 2021, this single platoon conducted 235 school visits, had more than 650 traffic contacts, made 71 misdemeanor or felony arrests and an additional 23 DUI arrests.  Twenty-seven of the misdemeanor and felony arrests were proactive in nature meaning these officers, through their own initiative, detected, investigated and arrested someone for a crime that hadn’t yet been reported.

Each member of this platoon contributed significantly to the overall effort in furtherance of the Department’s mission of effective, efficient and ethical enforcement of the laws and protection of our community.

Their efforts, as a team, made our roadways safer, enhanced the quality of life in Hampden Township and exemplified the qualities we seek to demonstrate as a premiere law enforcement agency.

Therefore, it is my pleasure to award the 2021 Platoon of the Year designation to Platoon B consisting of Sergeant Derrick Siegfried, Officer Bradley Corliss, Officer Ernest Jenkins, Officer Johannes Notz and Officer Joshua Pressel."
