Officer Dudek Receives Commendation

At the February 24, 2022 Board of Commissioners meeting, Officer Jonathan Dudek received a Commendation from Chief Junkin for his outstanding proactive efforts during 2021.

Officer Dudek's Commendation read:

"One of the essential qualities of being an effective police officer is being self-motivated and engaging in proactive enforcement. An officer using his non-obligated duty time to seek out crime, interdict it and make an arrest enhances a community’s overall safety by removing the criminal element before serious harm is done or the crime is reported.

Studies have shown that a police agency that engages in proactive enforcement discourages crime in their area, therefore being a true deterrent to crime ever occurring.

During 2021, one officer of the Hampden Township Police Department distinguished himself in the area of proactive enforcement.  Officer Jonathan Dudek made 28 proactive arrests consisting of 13 drug arrests, 11 DUI arrests, 1 driving under suspension DUI related arrest, 1 Receiving Stolen Property arrest, 1 Counterfeit Inspection Certificate arrest and 1 Carrying a Firearm Without a License arrest.

His commitment to duty and tireless efforts to detect crime demonstrates this department’s goals of making Hampden Township a truly safe community.

In recognition of his efforts during 2021, it is my pleasure to award this Commendation to Officer Jonathan Dudek."
