2022 Street Resurfacing Project Notice

Hampden Township awarded the 2022 street resurfacing contract to Pennsy Supply, Inc.  The scope of the project includes resurfacing streets, installation and reconstruction of stormwater and sanitary sewer facilities and installation of sidewalk curb cuts to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.  The streets scheduled to be resurfaced were approved after a comprehensive inspection and review of all Township-owned streets.  Following is a link to a project map which depicts the roads anticipated to be paved during the project. (Click Here).

The majority of the work will commence in June and be finished by the end of October.

Following is a tentative schedule of work to be performed within each development anticipated to have street resurfacing work completed.

  • Glenda Crest – July 14-18
  • Pinehurst Hills – July 18-July 22
  • Fairwinds – July 21-August 5
  • Turnberry – August 8-15
  • Townes of Crosscreek – August 16-19
  • Salmon Road, Springhouse Road, Smith Drive, Rivendale Blvd. and Amherst Court – August 22-31
  • Dove Ridge and Hampden Summit – September 1-23

Hours of work will generally be limited to weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect modified traffic patterns which will be controlled by certified flaggers to ensure safety.

There may be limited local road closures at times, however access to developments and properties will be maintained throughout the project. Mail delivery, trash, school bus and emergency services will not be disrupted.

The contractor will use message boards and issue notices to residents regarding the project schedule, on-street parking restrictions and temporary road closures. Once posted, the Township and Pennsy Supply request that residents comply with parking restrictions and make every effort to use off street parking during construction. Additionally, we ask that trash/recycling bins and temporary basketball backboards not be placed in or overhanging the roadway once notice of a paving schedule and parking restriction are posted on a specific street. These efforts will speed construction and help limit any inconvenience the project may cause.

When feasible, motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid the project areas while work is ongoing. If a motorist notices paving material on their car, after traveling through the project area, they are encouraged to wash the car, as soon as possible, to remove the material.
