The Board of Commissioners of Hampden Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, 230 S. Sporting Hill Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050, will accept sealed proposals until 11:00 a.m., prevailing time, June 28, 2017 for the following:

207 South Sporting Hill Demolitions

The Project generally consists of demolition of five (5) above grade structures located at 207 South Sporting Hill Road, Mechanicsburg, PA; including but not limited to tear down, removal of all debris and backfilling to grade. The Project includes a total building foot print area of approximately 19,200 square feet. An asbestos identification inspection has been completed which confirmed the presence of asbestos-containing materials on the site.

All bid proposals shall be properly executed in ink without alterations and shall be complete. All bid proposals must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10 %) of the bid. Specifications and bid forms, including a copy of the Asbestos Identification Inspection Report, may be obtained at no cost from the offices of Hampden Township at the address above from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays. The successful bidder will be required to post a performance bond in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the bid price.

Site inspections may be scheduled by contacting Jeremy Miller, Director of Public Works at (717) 761-0119. A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at 10:00 am on June 19, 2017 in Room 201 of the Hampden Township office.

Bid Proposals will be opened at 11:15 a.m. on June 28, 2017 at the offices of Hampden Township. Unless all bids are rejected, the lowest responsible bidder may be selected at a public meeting of the Board of Commissioners to be held June 29, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at the offices of Hampden Township noted above.

If the anticipated project cost is at least $25,000, Pennsylvania prevailing wages under the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act will be required.

The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof and to waive any defects or irregularities in the best interest of the Township.
