    RECREATION DEPARTMENT

    Part-Time, Seasonal Positions

    Lifeguard

    Qualified applicant will be responsible for maintaining safe swimming environment at Hampden Township Pool. This includes, but is not limited to:   accident prevention in the water and on the surrounding pool deck; rescue and care of accident victims; enforcing all rules and regulations; high level of customer service; other duties as assigned by supervisor. Applicant must possess current certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Lifeguarding. Lifeguards report directly to the Pool Manager. Pay Rate is commensurate with qualifications and experience and the range is $7.50-$8.50/hour.

    Pool Admission Desk

    Qualified applicant will be responsible for fast and efficient entry of customers to Hampden Township Pool. This includes, but is not limited to:   efficient cash handling; membership pass validation; handling of birthday party and pool reservations; high level of customer service; other duties as assigned by supervisor. Pool Admission's Desk personnel report directly to the Pool Manager. Pay Rate is commensurate with qualifications and experience and the range is $7.50-$8.50/hour.

    Pool Maintenance

    Qualified applicant will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of Hampden Township Pool and Park complex. This includes, but is not limited to:   daily vacuuming of main pool, baby pool, and spray ground vault; roaming of grounds for trash pickup; maintaining shrubbery around pool complex; emptying of trash receptacles around pool complex; daily cleaning of bath houses; high level of customer service; other duties as assigned by supervisor. Pool Maintenance personnel report directly to the Pool Manager.   Pay Rate is commensurate with qualifications and experience and the range is $7.50-$8.50/hour.

    Summer Camp Director

    Summer Camp is Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.   The ages of the Summer Camp participants range from 5-11 years old. The Summer Camp Director is responsible for instructing, assigning and scheduling all summer camp staff. He or she oversees the entire camp and campers.   Also, supervises and organizes all camp activities. The Camp Director is responsible for communication with participants as well as their parents. Pay Range: Commensurate with experience

    Summer Camp Counselor

    Summer Camp is Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.   The ages of the Summer Camp participants range from 5-11 years old.   A Summer Camp counselor plans, directs, and supervises assigned activities for a group of children.   The counselor stays with the same group of children all summer.   He or She should emphasize fair play, good sportsmanship and respect for others.   Pay Range: $7.50-$9.30 per hour

    Adventure Camp Counselor

    Adventure Camp is Monday-Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The ages of the Adventure Camp participants range from 12-14 years old.   The adventure camp counselor plans, directs, and supervises assigned activities for a group of pre-teen/teenage children. Pay Range: $7.50-$9.30 per hour

    Playground Instructor

    The Playground program is Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The ages of the playground camps range from 3-11 years old.    The instructor is responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable program of activities for the playground participants.   Pay Range:   $7.50-$9.30 per hour

    Playground Coordinator

    The Playground program is Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The ages of the playground camps range from 3-11 years old.    The coordinator provides supervision to all playground instructors and playground participants.   He or she is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing playground activities.   Pay Range: Commensurate with experience

    Recreation Office Assistant

    The Recreation office is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The assistant will work approximately 40 hours per week. He or she will assist with receiving and placing phone calls, provide recreation information to the general public, register participants for recreation programs, and assist in the daily operations of the office. Pay Range: $8.00-$9.00 per hour
