SAFETY TIPS FROM OFFICER PHIL & MCGRUFF THE CRIME DOG:

Many of these may sound old, but they apply today more than ever.

    1.  Don't talk to or take candy from strangers.

    2.  Don't run out onto a street - make sure you look both ways before crossing.

    3.  Always ride your bike, scooter, or roller blade on sidewalks if possible.

    4.  Always wear a bike helmet.

    5.  If you can, don't ride your bike at night. But if you have to, wear bright colored clothing and make sure your bike  has lights and reflectors.

    6.  If there are no sidewalks available, ride your bike with traffic, but walk against traffic.

    7.  ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEATBELT.

    8.  Don't go swimming without a grown-up present and try to swim with a buddy.

    9.  Don't play with guns.  If you find a gun, alert a parent or grown-up right away.

    10. Call 911 in case of an emergency.
