    AGGRESSIVE DRIVING

    ***AGGRESSIVE DRIVERS BEWARE ***

http://www.hampdentownship.us/departments/police/images/Buckle-Up-Pa-Logotemp_000.gif       In 2009, the Hampden Township Police were once again chosen to participate in   Pennsylvania’s "Drive Safe PA" and “Buckle Up” programs. "Drive Safe PA" is a program designed to target and deter aggressive driving and “Buckle Up” is designed to enforce and encourage Pennsylvania’s seat belt laws.

The “Drive Safe PA” targets areas that have a high number of crashes that result from aggressive driving.

Hampden Township’s high crash area is the Carlisle Pike.

"Buckle Up” is a program designed to target those drivers who don’t use seat belts and those drivers who transport children in vehicles without the required child safety seat. Buckle Up enforcement consisted of four separate one to two week enforcement periods throughout the year, there was no specific location targeted. During both programs in 2009, the Hampden Township Police issued a total of 596 traffic citations and made

    several criminal arrests.
