    Recycling Guidelines for Commercial Establishments

Under State Act 101 of 1988, and Hampden Township Ordinance 99-02, commercial establishments are required to recycle the following:

    • Aluminum cans
    • High-grade office paper
    • Corrugated paper

Additional items, including clear and colored glass, steel/bi-metallic cans, newsprint, and plastic (PET and HDPE) may also be recycled.

Hampden Township’s Solid Waste and Recycling Ordinance requires haulers of solid waste and recyclable materials operating within Hampden Township to make collections between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

All commercial, industrial, and institutional establishments are required, under State and Township regulations, to establish a collection system for recycled materials.  The materials that must be collected are high-grade office paper, corrugated paper and aluminum.  All haulers and recyclers operating in the Township are required to provide to the Cumberland County Recycling and Waste Authority a quarterly recycling report on the specific form provided by the County.

If additional information is needed, please contact Steven S. Campbell, the Township's Solid Waste Coordinator, at 761-0119.
